Short version------Great folks.........free is always good........... :smt003

I was having trouble with the levelwind on my favorite Okuma reel.  Called them to order the part I believed that I needed.  Nice fella said you should also replace this other part.  I said okay.  He asked for my mailing address and said he would have the two parts out the door the next morning at no charge.  No third degree about how long I've had the reel or how I've managed it.  Just quick, correct service.  Had the parts 48 hours later.  Just finished installing them.  My favorite reel is back in service.......... :kick

I've had the reel just less than a year.

It takes a generous rinsing and lubing after each outing to keep it working smoothly.  It is a mid range model.........Magda Pro 30DX..........line counter.  It is scarey to see the plastic gears inside but so far they have held up.  What failed was the metal parts on the level wind.......... :smt017

I do enjoy it.  Works very nicely for me despite my less than gentle usage......... :smt004.

Nice looking reel.  It seems their better line counter, which my Magda Pro is, would be the Convector line.  Maybe I'll upgrade after this season.

And Randy says it is important that I have a back up reel for the Ketchikan trip.  Thanks Mike!

I picked up a couple okuma convector reels, cn 20D cv 45D ( line counters ) and a cn30CS. I have been pleased will teh look of them and so far they have performed well for the price. However, I have only tested the cn 20D on the yak in salt water. I was pleased with how it performed, even wet.The line counter is inacurate at best though. The most accurate line countes i have used are from shakeshpere and they clamp to the rod and you run the line through them. They do not flucuate as more line goes out.
