ARW bait

Looking for a place to buy bait near ARW. Or is it easy to make bait on the water. First time fishing there and coming from the valley.

I've never been there but if u make a detour to Berkeley instead they have a real nice protected launch plus live bait at K dock. Good fishing too just gotta be off the water by noon usually before the hurricane starts.

Do you have to pay to launch a kayak off the Berkeley marina ramp?

Alameda bait- there is a market you can see from ARW in the ballena marina, bonfire market, big 5, grand street bait an tackle, west marine, safe way, luckys. Before anyone gives me a hard time about grand street bait and tackle saying it’s just a bar / deli the also sell bait.

How did you do yesterday?
I was out there and met you at the ramp. I was the one with the blue pescador pilot.

No luck. But I gave it a try. First time fishing on the bay. I was only on the water about 3 hours. I had a 3.5 hour drive back home. After a 3.5 hour drive there. Wish the bay was closer. It’s a learning  experience  i’ll be more prepared next time. Had fun that’s what counts.

I caught a 24" Cali hali. I hooked another, appeared to be bigger than the first but it broke my leader next to the boat. 
The weather turned sour in the early afternoon. I was at the ramp by 1300hrs.
Looks like you had one heck of a drive. It was nice chatting with you yesterday. Hope next time will be productive.

I have yet to hook-up with a halibut.   

It's been years but we used to catch shinier perch just south of the launch at the slough entrance to that housing area . Fish the break water made of tires

Lots of bait in west marine in shoreline mall, next to the kid’s playground.  Prices aren’t that bad but the bag though.... the anchovies are becoming smaller vs the tray.
