Thanks.  South Central doesnt sound very "Norcal", but whatever you wanna do.  Were all going to fish out of bounds just for fun...or can you add baja? JK

Yeah it is not very NorCal so I am really leaning to exclude it. I understand the point about Lime Kiln etc but the DFG designations easily prevent creeping and adding new spots.

Agreed.  Simple is good.  Lots of great spots are out of bounds.

Not really.  There are a few reaches above Geyserville that are a tad iffy, but the lowere river is an entirely different situation...slow and ez

4. All fish entered must be caught in the Central or Northern California Regions as defined by the California Department of Fish and Game (refer to http://www.dfg.ca.gov/mrd/fishing_map.html for map and regulations)

Hi guys,

Shawn's question and Bill's response has me confused.  Big Sur is now included in the pool area?  Big Sur isn't very SoCal.........y'know?  It gives us southern NorCal'ers a big fish spot comparable to what AbKing has.

I look forward to the new protocol.........and congratulating Mooch......... :smt002

Yeah Pat I know BigSur isn't SoCal but it might be CenCal.  :smt002 Anyways instead of drawing an arbitrary line in the sand I am going to defer to DFG. If I add Lime Kiln someone will complain Mill Creek isn't on the list etc,etc...

I'm fine with whatever the rule is, but the discussion in this thread has me confused.

The phrase " All fish entered must be caught in the Central or Northern California Regions as defined by the California Department of Fish and Game (refer to http://www.dfg.ca.gov/mrd/fishing_map.html for map and regulations)" doesn't jive with where I think this discussion was going.

Do you mean the entire Northern and Central Regions are included in the pool?  If so, that means the southern boundary would be Point Conception.  Which certainly isn't Nor Cal... it's really not even Central Cal.  But this would include Big Sur, Limekiln, etc...

The South Central managment area (which is part of the Central region) extends from Pigeon Point to Point Lopez... so maybe the rules should state that the boundaries will be from the northern most portion of California to Point Lopez if that is what is meant by this discussion.

Bill:

To clarify things I think you are talking about Regions 1, 2 and 3...whick looking at the maps would cover darn near everything folks are asking about.  See the maps here, the other link is a tad confusing...

Yes Sean you are correct. I apologize for all the confusion and I will update the rules. I have also updated the rules to clarify what fish are eligible. To clarify no fish caught before payment of entry fees are eligible except for fish caught between Jan 1st and Jan 9th, the days of the year before I had the sign-up page up.
