If you set up a regular tourney you would need to get a permit from DFG, if I am not mistaken...something to think about if you plan on establishing a kayak bass fishing 'circuit'.  You need to have all your dates and locations lined up far in advance and submit them for approval.  I can get more details on the process if you would like.

Oh, as long as we're including non-Lexington pictures...

for an informal MBF with just money pooled and all going to the winner there are NO legal ramifications.

We have had this discussion a bazillion times in SD.

Let's just set a date, everyone pitches in 5 bucks.  All money goes to the winner and we have shore lunch.

Easy, clean, cheap and FUN!

Yeah, I agree -- MBF s/b no problems.  The earlier post was just in response to the thread about setting up kayak bass fishing tournament(s) on a regular basis.

Yes.

As soon as you offer prizes that are not a pool of money from entrants you run into issues.

You could make a tourney trail of MBF's and it would be no big deal.

In fact, I think that should be the route taken.

I'm in. I need the money and MolBasser needs a flyfishing Lesson.
Strech the tourny trail to my turf or waters and you'll definitely catch some large bucket mouths.
Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.

Hey Chris,
My arsenal consist of a 3 wt mainly for sunfish sometimes for trout(bassfood) 2 six wts, 2 eight wts and 1 nine wt.
I can flyfish comfortably down to about 35 ft.  beyond that I'll Carolina rig my flies on conventional gear.

It's no great feat on my part. Any serious Fly slinger can do it. A lot of guys my self included build lines out of LC 13.
For getting deep quickly. However it's not my favorite to cast in a kayak.
