I’ll be taking a FII class on the 21st. If you want to give it a try I’ll back you up.

I would be really careful, ARW is full with idiots and I don't think diving is a known activity there.  I was there yesterday and Lovely Martha passed me by about 40 feet away from me (that's about 3 kayak length away!).  The fucking idiot gave me a 5 feet wake and I didn't have time to turn, so I hit it sideway.  The boat came within 60 feet from me (I was already there long before she even showed up).  This boat is not a small PB, it's a 51'!  I was so pissed ....

Visibility is too short to allow you to see the halis before they take off (2 to 3) feet if your lucky. Ask BigJim about how hard it is to see halis in clear water.

Is it even legal in the bay to dive?

Good Question.
Besides that, it is a popular PB area, at the very least, you will piss off a few, but worse case, it could be a disastrous final decision.
You have better decisions to make elseware.
Sorry if this is not what you want to hear,
Come to GS and you might have a great chance at a nice Hali
;0)

I was there most of the today today. I would dive the protective side of the rock wall with a pole spear. I saw 2 Hali come from in their today.

I’d be more worried about all the human waist dumped in the water from all the marina near by.

I've had problems with that boat while salmon fishing around Bolinas. I understand he has a lot of lines in the water and is trying to keep shit from getting tangled, but he doesn't give a shit. I was in a 24' PB and he still just blew right through. That captain is a fucking prick.
