Thinking about throwing my yak and tent in my truck and taking a road trip somewhere in September. Not sure where....Texas? Florida? Maybe Wisconsin or MN?  Looking for recommendations for good yak fishing areas about that time of year. Advice appreciated!

That's a pretty good time of year to be in California.

Yep.  Why dodge hurricanes and frosty mornings?

That would require more than one September.

Don't laugh... but how about South Dakota? Lake Oahe and Lake Francis Case have some of the best walleye, smallmouth, and northern pike fishing in the world. Not sure what time of year is best, but my brother fishes the latter regularly and always catches a boatload of smallies. He says it's kayak-able, although you'd likely be the only kayak on the lake. I want to take my AI to Oahe (which, btw, also has a bonus salmon population), but, sadly, it looks like like I won't make it this year...
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

Really want to get to the south as I've never been before...but now NowhereMan has me interested in lake Oahe. I'll definately check it out, thanks!
