Title: electrical connector question
Post by: NowhereMan on February 03, 2018, 08:33:55 AM
Does anybody know what this type of waterproof electrical connector is called? I'm looking for a (waterproof) plug that will fit in the female end when the solar panel is not connected.

I use those on my battery box for my kayak, but they are not at all the same as the ones in the original post (much heavier duty, like you’d use on a regular outlet).

Delphi weather pack, just get a connector bare... drop some 5 min epoxy where there wires go in and just clip it in when not in use.

on a related note, how would I make a waterproof connection to a 12v fishfinder battery terminals?

I use those same connector that iroelikethat posted above and keep my battery in a waterproof box---so that is the connector between the battery box and the wiring. If you want to waterproof the actual connection to the battery, some goop should do the trick.

Or build a barrier around the terminal with clay, and fill the area with epoxy.remove clay after epoxy is set.
