I currently have 3.5" noodles on my Yakima bars, and they're pretty good but have lost their cushioning properties since I started using them for the TI.
Is there another thick foam roller that someone can recommend?

Something like the ones below? These look like they might be perfect but wondering if anyone else has thoughts.
Thanks!

I'm not sure about rollers but I bet if you go to an upholstery shop they'll let you take some scraps and they could even put a cover on the foam for protection.

I dont think "thicker" is what your need; maybe something denser would be better...

I remember once seeing solid foam rolls at Sports Basement in Sunnyvale. You may want to check the stores in the Presidio and on Bryant.

Not interested in any of the kayak rack foam blocks?

My buddy has +1yr going on pipe insulation wrapped with a yoga mat and covered with gorilla tape. He sized the pipe insulation large enough to spin freely around the bar when loading & unloading. Works great.

Eddie, the blocks will just get turned over by the weight of the TI I'm guessing.

I actually really like this guy's idea and might try something similar:

Yes, the more I thought about it the more I can imagine the malfunction scenario with the blocks.  You have a beast of a boat and the tubes are ideal.
