Getting ready to get into this project on a few boats.  Ive some experience with a few products but I was curious what the current NCKA culture is using for traction pad projects/materials.
I've used Seadek for a template on the Jackson Coosa and then chose Conceal as the sheet material.
Also have used Hydroturf on a Tarpon 140 with positive results.
I know there are other products out there but I haven't worked with any.
Self adhesive backing is preferred.

Part of this project will be removing the factory pads from a Jackson Kraken. I am hoping it will come free with alcohol and some work and prefer not using heat.

Nothing...

Not really surprised, but I was thinking that there might be chance somebody else finds value in increased silence and comfort, especially when standing.
Im sure I will find what I need.

Wish I could help Terry but nowadays I have a hard enough time standing from the chair in my living room.  :smt044
Have never used deck pads but can see the desire for it.
Good luck. I know you'll end up with exactly what ya want.

Thanks Tote,  I did find what I was looking for and more. i went with a company called Northshoreinc.
I ordered traction pad material for 3 boats and a big sheet of mini cell to try and stack for added silence.
They also had the kite board foot straps that Ive been wanting to attach to the deck of the Coosa.
A one stop shop for these projects.
This weekend Ill try to get the half ass traction pad Jackson is putting on their boats off. Ugh

I feel your pain old friend. I picked up bowling and then decided that I am a 2 hander.
Its a blast but the injuries are trying to stack up on me. Life after 50.

The new Kraken comes stock with pad?  I am curious about quiet padding for fishing.  So much bumping going on.  Do you think it would truly increase hookups in salt environments or mostly fresh water species... :smt006

I ordered a sheet of this stuff for my little aluminum boat. It hasn’t arrived yet but I’ll update if/when I install & use it.

Materials have arrived and I am excited to get to work.
Went with the waffle cut this time on the colored sheets.
Also ordered the purple sheet in an offered "double density" and I'm happy that I tried it.
I was curious if it was a harder material or just thicker. I was hoping for thicker and thats what I got.
I am also stoked about trying to fuse together the traction pad and a sheet of thick mini-cell for more sound dampening.

The Jackson traction pad pulled away easily from the PE. Its not totally worthless though. Ill use it for a template for that section of the deck.

Any estimate to how much weight on average this padding adds?

I was curious if the double density traction pads would add any significant weight as well.

1.65 pounds was the weight of the padding I used as the base on a Jackson Coosa.
This is just the base though. Single density will be added to different impact points on the boat.

The double density is more challenging to work with but it does improve the sound dampening.

A better shot of the traction pad here.

I used the Seadek pre-cut for the Coosa as a template to cut my pieces.
Unfortunately there are no templates for the next 2 boats inline for this kind of work.

The local bowlers do not feel the same. Ive been called a spectacle, among a few other choice words, by the traditional folks. Fortunately that kind of stuff just fuels my fire. That with music and rum.
Ive been working on a few other bowling vids but it has cut into my kayak project time.  The 2 handed style forces me to strengthen my core and that absolutely transfers to kayaking.
