I know it's not Norcal but just wanted to share with you guys.
My buddy Lou Dog & I got to La Jolla @ 330pm. We launch @ 4pm to nice glassy conditions with no wind. Fished from 4 to 8 caught these 2 yellows around 6:30. The one in my right hand weighed in at 26lbs and the smaller one at 22lbs.

awesome evening who say Friday the 13th is unlucky.
tight lines

Nice work! How far do you guys usually have to paddle to get into the school?

Were they caught with live bait or lures?

Wow... you lucky dude.  Well... now I can honestly say I know someone down south who can put me into some hot yellowtail action.

Hey Ariel, buddy, I might have to take you up on that old offer to drive down and hook-up with you for some SoCal fishing :smt003

Hana the paddle to the kelp beds took about 25 to 30 mins maybe even shorter. it wasn't bad at all. you should definitly make a trip down this way so you can add some yellowtail photo's to your photo album.

Ariel, I'll be down in LaJolla middle of July for a week for family vacation. Probably bringing my yak (ancient white and red fibreglass). I'll probably be trying out my new speargun, but if you're not averse to mixing it up with a spearo, maybe we can hook up. I'm a morning person, though (afternoons will be Lego Land oriented).

PS Ariel, Come on up this summer and get some salmon. You'll know when it gets hot here 'cause there'll either be a lot of posts or none at all!
