Title: Cobra Eliminator

Spent an hour at HMB Kayak Company with owner Chris today. Got to demo paddle a Cobra Eliminator and LOVED IT :smt007

Specs:

lenght - 16'6"
weight - 42 pounds
width - 23"
capacity - 240 lbs

IMO: A perfect "work out" kayak  :smt002

I WANT ONE....or rather "NEED ONE" :smt002

nah....I already have my T160 for that :smt002 This will be my "strictly paddle only kayak".

Yup...but it seems like that the hull is is not as thick as other kayaks...thus making it lighter...I think.

I know what your thinking Mike :smt003 But I'm no longer "sexy 240"....I'm now down 230 lbs  :smt002 Besides, I think the manu just plays it safe with the weight spec. I'm almost sure it can handle a 250 lb dude.

And I really dig the fact that I can carry this kayak...even when I reach the golden age of 90  :smt002

Joel you really need to check out some of the sit in yaks out there for a pddle only boat. I did a paddlefest in fresno yesterday and checked out the Current Design boats and they are awesome!

Not really a big fan of the sit-inside kayaks. I've paddled a few from Aquan and none of 'em felt comfortable at all (for me at least).....besides, there's nothing better than being able to stradle your kayak (or even side saddle) when you need a break  :smt002 AND self rescue from a sit-on-top is so much easier. I was originally eyeing a surf ski but they are too expensive and too long for storage.

Just roll your sit in back up :smt002  No self rescue needed.

My boss is really getting into it and it's kinda rubbing off on me :smt001 In fact, Aquan sponsors "Racing with Giants" - a local group of pro adventure racers that offers clinic on how to get started - and having fun doing it. I paddle with 'em every chance I get. I'm tuning my mountain bike as well so I can get started on that aspect of the sport....who knows, I may join a race someday...when I'm ready :smt002
