I went out today to Manresa state beach, only stayed two hours. I got there around noon, soon after high tide. The surf was pretty rough but not unfishable. I found one sandcrab the entire time I was there and didn't see any signs of fish. At least it was a nice day to be out on the water.

those days seem to happen quite often on the surf. try investing in some gulp worms. not a bad back-up bait to have when sand crabs are unavailable.
