Craig, did you paddle the P13 yet? Thoughts?

It paddles sweet Juan. Lower profile than the tridents. Good stability. Fast. Maneuvers well due to a little more rocker.

Does the P13 have the round molded-in center hatch (like the 2011+)...or is it open into the hull of the kayak (like the pre-2010)?

It's nice to see these old warhorses back. The Trident 15 is light for its class by today's standards. To me, it always offered a solid compromise between carrying capacity (lots), stability (plenty), and paddling performance (quick enough, good in surf).

What most impressed me today was the quickness and maneuverability of the Tetra12. The P-13 is way faster than the T-15. Doesn't track as well without rudder but way more maneuverable. Now the Tetra12 is a whole different boat altogether but it is quick. So quick. Way less volume than either of the others and most definitely not for everyone. None the less I was very impressed by it's  weight disparity, turning capabilities and stability for a 12 ft. kayak. The 13 is in my possession and coupled with a seat upgrade made by Cloud,  it will be the grand raffle prize at Albion.

Nice Craig.  I always did like the lines of the Tetra 12, its a fast looking boat.  I can easily imagine that being their first thermoform boat someday.

So this updated T15 (front hatch, molded handles) is $1199.

ravensblack: It looks like the new front hatch is smaller than the older model, right?

Yes Chet. The opening is smaller. A much better seal though. The new hatches actually have to be pushed down to the base the seal is so good. Same weight basically. Ill have one of the new ones in a couple of weeks. Clavey has three T-15's left at the store in Petaluma. 949 plus a 10% NCKA discount

For new guys looking to get on the salt... This is one of the best NON Hobie Kayaks for that. Can't go wrong with this boat. I have 2 of them and love them both. I put friends on them 'cause I know they won't have problems with them. I also have the wilderness systems thresher 155 (HEAVY) I like it better but will use the trident if pulling up hill to the car (TC or the Fort)  :smt044 :smt044 :smt044
Come on out! It's time to play. It's time for TROUT Bass and STRIPER. Let go of the hand brake!
