Anyone know any good spots going up north to do some dispersed camping next to a river with some nice yummy trout?!

Be a little more specific on your targeted area.

Almost all “trout” in the Eel and open areas of the Trinity are juvenile steelhead, and you can’t keep them.

There are big browns on the upper Trinity in the Douglas city area in the early spring.

Some great trout fishing this time of year on Sacramento River, here is the BLM map that shows all the areas where camping is allowed. Believe it is free most of these spots.

Truckee River. Hershdale area. Camp at Stampede or Prosser. Later maybe early June so you don't freeze to death.
You could always fish lake Ralphine it's close and you would get your trout fix (if you dig put and take fishies) or fish the Russian for Steelhead.

Here's an old discussion.
