Yeah they're on my list of things to get but everywhere I've looked they're more like 25-30.....my sticks and random wood scraps are free.

plus I consider it a security factor, its harder to root around through my gear when one hand has to hold the camper window open.  :smt003

Heck, they might just take the whole truck now that it's pimped up!

Didn't intend on laboring again but I found an xmas present for my truck on craigslist.  Practically new and priced right.  Rear differential.... spider gears out, lockright auto-locker in.

I think the coolest thing on Art's truck is that he's got buckets seats instead of the standard bench seat. (hate bench seats  :smt013)

Art, since you have mad skills on pimping......let me know when you can build me one of these...

* I really don't need the whole thing in carpet....just need the storage on each side of the wheel wells. I like the fact that I have can sit in my truck with plenty of head room.

Lol, power to both rear wheels when I need it, no more having a wheel spin free in the air while the other one isn't getting any power.  My rig just got more trail capable.

Al I'll fix your brakes if you fix my computer :)

Mooch....buy the lumber.

Mooch, you can usually find those things on craigs list for cheap.  Those were an option for the yota's in the 80's, mine came with one, it was pretty cool but my dogs tore it up and made the carpet stink.  You should be able to find one for your truck, although im a big fan of making anything I can!

I turned one down in good shape for 50 bucks a couple months ago. I could see if it still around if you like.

Thanks....yup 4 cyl, its about 265k on the odometer. When I first got it it was runnin a bit rough; didn't know how much life was left in the engine so I started shopping around for a rebuilt.  After a tune up and some drivetrain tlc I'm pretty confident I'll be racking up another 100-150k before I start questioning a rebuild.

Allen, the pics show for me......some are upside down but they still appear.  :smt003

Rob, grab it for him  :smt003, I sent him links to a couple on craoigs but he couldn't get to them in time.  50 is way cheaper than you could build from scratch.

Lockers rule. Better than huge tires, exhaust,  or any of the other junk kids bolt onto their rigs.

Other than basic trail safety stuff, my uncle(who was a hardcore jeeper once he got back from Korea) always said only 2 things were necessary to go on all the crazy runs like he did: tires and lockers.

Nice find Art, and even nicer that you could install it yourself.

Sweet find on the locker.  They are the bomb when the going gets tough!  My 86 Toy had limited slip not as good as a Detroit Locker but better than nothing.

I had a 87 2 wheel drive Toyota pickup that had almost 300k with the drive train never being touched.  still ran good, did not smoke or use oil or leak oil.  Only reason I sold it was because it was too easy to steal.
