I catch more/better rockfish on my shrimpfly when I use a jig or swimbait below a shrimpfly as apposed to just two shrimp flies. I think it helps draw some attention

Lately Ive been slow pitch jigging using slowfall and taikabura jigs.  It's become an addiction. The style fits my pace (lazy) you can work the water column really easy and they work on a lot of different species. Ive found that I dont get as many bottom snags either.
For bottom I like to use inchiku type jigs, megabait styles, williamsons and big swimbaits.

have fun

Been having good luck rock fishing with a jig head and a whole squid.  Size of the jig head depends on conditions.
