The bottom line is that you really don't know what it's going to be like until you go out and look for yourself.

I like the fact that the winds were forceasted as coming from the North rather than NW... this may offer a better chance of finding a sheltered spot.

Regardless of weather... I'm looking forward to the event.

The think I like about wunderground.com is that they have people that have put up weather stations in specific locations. They are testing a feature called "Rapid Fire" that pulls from the station every 5 seconds. So if there is a station near the launch (big if) you can get really good data.

If anyone needs help filleting fish I'd be glad to help out, I'll also bring a stone if anyone needs to use it to sharpen up those knives to fillet rockfish.

Yet another hijacked thread :smt005

I don't know about the wind or the swells, but I do know the tide will be low, as in MINUS:

Friday AM, -.7 @ 7 am
Saturday AM, -.1 @ 7:45

Could make launching a little trickier.  Probably a good idea to stuff your gear during the entry/exit.

When is stuffing a bad idea?

Stuart I agree.  At least upon exit.  which fortunately will be at Hight tide most likely.  It will all depend on the swell.

Low tide there can help or hurt depending on the swell.  Wind and swell shelter is excellent to the north in Cuffeys Cove.

Hey Rockhopper, if you want someone to fillet your fish, I'm damn good at it, I can get 5 lbs of meat out of a 4 lb fish.

A good site for a forecast, and it is usually is accurate. Surfpuls.com I use this when I am going surfing or fishing. Search around in the forecast area and you can narrow down your search to the general area you will be in.
I will see everyone there Sat. morning. I will be leaving Ukiah around 0400 hours

Awesome. Thanks for the fillet offers, fellas. Just wanted to bring a fillet or two home and I suck at filleting fish.

All this time I thought you were "Mr. Catch and Release" for some higher reason like conservation.   It never occurred to me that you just didn't have filleting skills.  I'm sure there are plenty of us that can give you a leason.   In fact, if I remember I'll bring my electric knife and show you a short cut to good fillets done really fast.
