2005 NCKA MOSS LANDING SALMON DERBY

Since the salmon bite is unpredictable from year to year, our 1st Annual Moss Landing Salmon Derby will be tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 7th with the 14th, 21st, and 28th as back-up dates. If local fishing reports indicate that fish are being caught within a 3-mile paddle from the Moss Landing Harbor, we'll announce it on the Wednesday (3 days) before the derby day. If the conditions are bad, we'll push the derby back to the following Saturday.

This will be a MBF (Money Between Friends) event. Biggest salmon wins the 1st place cash pot with other awards going to 2nd and 3rd place.

1. Entry fee of $30 - $20 goes into the pool, $10 goes to Coastside Fishing Club (http://coastsidefishingclub.com)

2. 6:00 am launch - 1PM weigh-in time.

3. More details to follow!

This should be a great kickoff to what will be a fun filled summer of kayak fishing events!!

Bill,

You may want to make the weigh in a little later.  I was in my Hobie about 3 miles out.  Took in 2 hrs to get back in.  Wind and waves working against  me.  Trolled all the way back in.

Bill, please read my PM to you.

I also agree with Ken.  If you push it back to 1 pm, it should give us enough time to paddle (or pedal) back and get cleaned up.
