so blacks don't have the radiating stripes and blues do?

Blacks have a more rounded anal fin. Blues have a more triangular anal fin though the edges are slightly rounded. The difference in the fins is very apparent however.

Lings, Cabs and greenlings have a size limit, but the other rockies do not, correct?   What, in your opinion(s) would be a `keeper' size of blues, blacks, gophers, etc?  Just wondering, since I am new at this.

Gophers are small but proportionally nice filets.  So, a 10 inch gopher makes tacos.

Blues don't begin to make nice filets until they exceed 12 inches.  We don't have blacks down our way, so I'll let someone else recommend on them.

Olives over 14 inches are massively good eating.
