Is there a video clip or can someone with a SOT Raptor show us how it looks like flipping the kayak topside in the case of getting dumped?

I used the SOT Raptor for several months, and the only time I flipped it was when I was messing around standing up on it (my balance sucks!  :smt005).

I didn't get any footage of me flipping it back it over, but it was easy....I think Baitman might have some footage of him messing around and flipping it back over?

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

There's one for the SIK Raptor and IMO it would be even easier done with the SOT...

 Great video Jim!

Yester,        Fast forward to 6;45     I'm outside the harbor entrance  flipping it in about 20 FOW, ( my first time BTW )        Had to really work at pulling it over, but righting it was super easy.

Thanks Sonny ,   I hadn't seen that one in a long time...   That SIK  was fresh out of the mold then.  It was the first time we'd ever tried the self rescue,  had no idea what to expect.

I gotta say..."self-rescue" (aka getting back in the boat) is super easy on the Raptor SOT.

I dove off of the SOT Raptor a lot in the past few months (which means that I had to get back on it a lot!) and its stability made it a piece of cake getting back on...out of all the kayaks I have dove off it was by far the easiest to get back on.  :smt001

Really cool design, and an excellent yak made by a great guy.

Jim

Thanks everyone.  Looks like there are two point areas where you can flip the yak topside.  I wonder which area is easier?  Same thing with re-entry points, two areas, front or back.  Which one is easier?
Thanks BigJim.  I've been checking your videos out.

Big Jim,,      Yeah,    !!!     see I told ya so.      hahaha.     And great videos too.      Again ,  Big Thanks for taking the time to paddle and share your experience with it.   Now let's get you into your own personalized Raptor.    What color did you want ?   :smt044

    Great Crab-mobile,,, ( Glen,  it's not too late.)    :smt002

Yester,     It's not likely you'd ever roll this over except  in the surf zone.    I find it's easiest and fastest from the side.    Always best to practice the maneuver  before you ever get into a situation of course.      Helps to gain a little familiarity with your kayak and it's limits.

 LilRiverMan,    Yup !        I make those at my shop.     Uses a Wheeleze 30cm  ( 12" )  wheel.
Great for maneuvering the trails to the beach.
