I took 2 blue in one shot among hundred of them. I think I did that twice in 3 year.
What's the chance of taking 2 monkey in one shot...Go buy a lottery Jim.

I've got two monkeys in one shot once before at the very end of 2015, but didn't get it on vid:

I did...the stringer I put them on was apparently frayed/nicked and they twisted so much they snapped the mono :smt009 :smt010
But at least I got em on vid, and it wasn't a trophy fish that broke the stringer and got away.

ps..the one Andy burned in the fryer that night was another one I came across and shot while looking for these two escapees. :smt005

Did you know there were 2 MFEs down there or was it just sheer luck? Both nice ones.
-
Neither. BigJim could smell and can tell weight before he takes them.
I heard rock fish always swim up to tell him where the big ling and red hide in exchange for living another day. :smt044
-
Good shooting BadassJim!

Of course I knew! And I lined up the shot taking into consideration refraction off flesh and bone of first one in order to assure a holding shot on the second one.

Actually....when I first dropped on the crack I saw the body of a monkey, and then a little ways to the side a head facing the other way...figured it was either a nice long monkey curled up, or maybe two in one spot...
When I dropped the second time I was really battling the surge and since I know from experience these guys hardly ever move even when the spear is right in their face I took my time and got the tip of my shaft right next to the head and pulled the trigger...
I think being that close to the first one allowed my shaft to skewer it and have enough power to penetrate the one behind it?

Jim
