Introductions / Yak Pics
« on: January 07, 2018, 11:45:48 AM »
Okay...I waited until I was finished (for now) upgrading my Sea Ghost 130 before posting my pics.  I've got my Garmin Striker 4 fish finder installed, the power console mounted, the hatch cover hinge kit installed, battery box installed in the forward hold, and even have my version of the milk crate rod holder.  All I need now is to get some lures wet.  Hope to see a lot of you at Stillwater Cove in March!!!

General Talk / Killer rock and ling cod jigs???
« on: December 19, 2017, 10:58:49 AM »
Hi all.  In an effort as a newbie to Monterey Bay kayak fishing to add "catching" and "eating" to my fishing terminology (not to mention the possibility of adding another fish to the one fish my wife will EAT (salmon), does anyone out there have a couple sure fire suggestions for rock cod or lings out in the bay?  Thanks!!!

Introductions / Hello from California's Central Coast
« on: December 13, 2017, 09:24:44 AM »
New member from California's Central Coast.  Been fishing forever, but new to kayak fishing (guess I didn't have enough hobbies...).  Just purchased a new Vibe 130 and am in the slow process of outfitting it, but anxious to get it broken in.  Fishing will mostly be for rockfish, ling cod, and halibut in the Monterey Bay, but plan on checking out north to Santa Cruz areas and south to Morro Bay / Pismo Beach.  Will gladly accept all tips, trade secrets, and especially offers to mentor an old newbie to the sport.  Thanks for reading...happy fishing!!!
