Water level is up at Folsom lake to the point where you can put in at the raft take out. On the water at 8 and back to the ramp at 11. Quick trip as I had issues and the wind didn't like me

Water temp was 63 in the lake and 61 under the bridge. Caught 3 fish, one bass and 2 squaw. All caught on small crankbaits and were just upriver from the 5mph buoys. Tried the flooded brush by the ramp and nothing.

Anyone know if a launch is open?

Can't find info online and no phones.
Thanks

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Rollins Lake closed
« on: January 12, 2022, 08:26:30 AM »
With Rollins lake full I wanted to do some sonar making and a little fishing. All four launch points are closed. Of someone finds out reopened please post.
Thanks

Just like California. Lake is full so you can't use it and they are lowering Folsom

For Sale / NEW-Lews custom speed stick Lite, LCLBJR $100
« on: November 26, 2021, 04:56:14 PM »
$100 Location: Georgetown, CA

Selling a new Lews custom speed stick Lite, LCLBJR casting rod. Says it's for bladed jigs and square bill.  Took it out of packing for pictures and that's it.

Over a year ago I bought two of these at a store closing sale. For me they are too flexible for a bladed jig. I now use mine as a crankbait rod for things like Spro rock crawlers. The second one has been sitting in packing tube never used.
If someone is interested I can bring mine too a local lake so they can try it.

PS: No, I will not bring it to the bay area

Should have been a manatee. :}

Skunked at Rancho. Normal day for me.

Many surprises. The solar panel fields, price to get launch ($15), and park closes at 3:30.

Water temp was 55 at 8am and 58 when I left. Counted almost 20 craft on the water. All the grass shallow is still brown and didn't see a single small fish. Sonar showed groups of fish at 20-25. Couldn't get any to bite ( dropshot, ned,Shakey). Saw one bed shallow in a Northside cove, but no one was home.

For me Rancho is like a big pond. Only about 50 feet deep. It stays full year round so lots of vegetation around the shoreline.  Best luck I've had is with 5 inch soft swimbaits and soft jerkbaits.

Just noticed that this weekend is close to the full moon. I just wonder if bass will be biting or loving.

Is thinking of going Friday but forecast shows higher winds. I'll probably make it down Saturday morning.

Orange wildness systems ride115x carrying to much stuff. Just look for the guy with stuff breaking.

Thinking of Rancho Seco, Lodi lake, or Delta as this spring heats up.  I'm up east of Folsom and don't get down hill but a couple times a year.  Want to fish more places on delta this year. Never tried Lodi and looks healthy, but not sure if there is a launch area now.  Rancho is closest and nice, but tough bite each time i've gone.

Mostly fish during the week to stay away from crowds.  Less traffic in the mornings on weekends is a plus.

There use to be month long fishing tournaments online or in an app but can't remember.  Are these still done?

KANULOCK

I've used my pair for three years now.  Lockable and they have steel cables inside to prevent cutting.

I've recover enough to get a yak and line in the water.  Went out yesterday and it was mostly paddling, didn't catch anything.

I'm amazed by the number fish that got caught.   Before, I was wondering if anyone would even get 5 fish.  There were more big fish pulled from Folsom than I thought it had.  Would be nice if the winner gave an interview, or write up, about their day on the water.
