For Sale / NonYak: Reloading Stuff, Popup Truck Camper, etc.
« on: March 14, 2024, 02:04:44 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'm going through a divorce and selling the digs in Morgan Hill. Not sure if reloading stuff is allowed here.

I've got to clear out my garage as I'm moving. I've got tons of reloading stuff in 9mm, 45acp, 223, etc. including different powders. Message me for details.

Also, I have a 2006 Starcraft Pine Mountain pop truck camper (just google for photos for now). It's 6.5ft long and it fits on my 5.5ft Tundra bed with tailgate down. Asking $6k. Has kitchen sink, stove, fridge and a full size bed, no leaks.

Also, have a 1970 Richline 12 foot aluminum boat with trailer $400

Keeping my kayak. :)

Message me for details.

Fishing Tournaments and Events / Re: Crab fest 2023(or hang and chill)
« on: February 01, 2023, 09:01:49 AM »
apologies for not meeting up with anyone.  The wind was extra crazy this weekend and ended up renting an AirBnB.  The crabbing was excellent though.  Me (green kayak) and a couple buddies (paddle boards) got on the water around 9:30 and crabbed near the jetty.  We ended up with 24 large crabs (all over 6') with many jumbos by 12:30 and the wind beginning to rise.  Overall Saturday was an excellent day but was happy to have a house to hide from the wind afterwards.

Great meeting you (again), Hungers. Hope you guys liked the tacos. :)
The dungie put a big smile on my daughters face. LOL! Thanks, Hungers!

It was a slow day for me and my daughter with only 3 keeper dungies and over 15 rocks.

Btw, I had assisted in a minor rescue (won't mention his name  :smt003) who fell over trying to reach for a hitchhiker while puling his trap.
I was pedalling away when he fell over so it was good thing I looked back and saw his kayak drifting away. So I rushed over to bring his kayak back to him. I'm so glad he had a step strap ready in his kayak and I didn't have to use mine. He just needed some extra pull and hold the kayak down for him. He had a drysuit so he wasn't too cold. Good thing it happened around 1pm so we were all heading back anyway. I'm just glad he was safe.

Nice to see everyone.

General Talk / Re: Heat rash
« on: August 10, 2022, 12:21:35 PM »
You can also use Desitin creamyo which has a lot of Zinc Oxide. That's caused by heat/sun/sweat.

It's similar to PME (Poly Morphic Explosion) aka extremely bad heat rash. Read up on PME.

It sounds funny but more and more people are getting PME.

I've got a Daiwa Accudepth 17 (right hand) but I prefer the lefties so I still use the Magdas.
Since you have one, how do you like it?  I like the design of it, but haven't found a review of it yet.

It's similar to the Magda Pro but slightly smoother but I don't think they come in lefties.

I've been using the Okuma Magda Pro over the 20 years. I've got 4 of them in several iterations used mostly for trout fishing.
Model MA-20DLXT

It's the same reel I've caught my PB trout (15lb @ 28in).  They're very reasonable when I first bought one at $30each. Not sure if the quality is still decent.

I just saw this at Walmart for $43

General Fishing Tips / Re: Downrigger Weight
« on: February 08, 2022, 02:29:02 PM »
I've been using exactly just that for lake fishing and it's worked well for me for years now. It does have some slight scope, are you using braid line for your downrigger? It will help with vibration and drag. Move up to 6-8 lb finned ball weight if you want more vertical line.

Found it. PM me to pick up.
