4-26-0r 27th we will be in Monterey and will be looking for "other" stuff to do. With Carries limitations after getting ill, wheel chair accessible is a thing now. Hoping someone can get us into the Aquarium with friend passes as the cost is prohibitive right now for us. Anyone? Beuler? if not we can do other stuff around town. We figured, since we got another anniversary, we'd run to the coast :smt007

Some of you have met my wife Carrie, she got sick (pulmonary embolisms both lungs). So sick she Coded (died) four times. She was in a code blue status (heart stopped) eleven times over a two hour period with chest compressions, shocks and intubation. She was given the clot buster medication and her condition stabilized. At that time we were told she was only given a five percent chance to live without full machine support. Only a two percent chance of brain function if she did. she was on full life support and her pupils were fixed and dilated. The doctors had me sign a DNR order and organ donation form. At that time they wanted me to turn off life support and let her go... They said after a certain point doing more CPR and extreme measures would be crewel and unusual... She was given a blood infusion during the last try to revive her. I leaned in close and told her what the doctors wanted me to do. She responded! Shook her head no and mouthed NO, around the tube. Doctors told me it was probably just reflex movements. Well, they were wrong! Right now, after a month in the intensive care unit at Sutter faith in Sacramento, we have been moved to a rehab center in Auburn. We received a miracle. She is fully there! Mentally she is great! Physically she still has some challenges, but will be expected to fully recover. We have started a go fund me to help us pay for the continuing care she will need that is not covered by our insurance. If you can, we could use donations to fund skilled nursing and home care. She will be heading home in about 7 days!!! (today is 11-27-23) We raised six kids and have 8 grandchildren. She fought to stay for them and us all. Thanks in advance, Ron McGuire Weimarian

Going to have to clean up some corrosion. spool's corroded threw the chrome. Going to find out what model it is. I suspect it is a 9/0 or larger. thing is a winch to mount on a pole! Alan Tani, I might need a tutorial for this bad boy. looks like it is spooled 4" deep with 100+ lb mono. Very cool reel that works great! It looks like this one on Ebay. Mine has a custom or larger factory handle and arm     https://www.ebay.com/itm/Penn-Senator-Vintage-14-0/114346119513?_trkparms=aid%3D888008%26algo%3DDISC.CARDS%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D225085%26meid%3Deb88f534d0a44045b74324e69693ac35%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26sd%3D352800439495%26itm%3D114346119513%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DDiscV1%26brand%3DPenn&_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982

So, we can't have a big party or shindig... But if everyone could wait till I blast the horn, one long, then 3 short... Sing happy birthday as loud and sloppy as possible. Drunken-ly bawling out the song is the target... She is not feeling the love lately and could use a rousing song to let her know we care... So 9pm, Beep...... beep. beep. beep. Happy birthday to Carrie.... Thanks, will make her smile :smt007

Please consider if you were thinking about cancelling your trip because the event is canceled. do it. They are not going to allow transfers due to the covid restrictions. they need 22 cancellations in order to open for camping. they will do a random draw if they cannot reach that number of open camp sites. Sucks but that's what they told me today... I canceled the third site I was holding in reserve so there's one..... Leave them a message and she will call you back... COVID SUCKS!!!
