I was at Bodega this morning pumping for ghost shrimp. Looking for typical 1/2"-3/4" holes. On my 3rd pump, this weird worm type thing came out. Had to be at least 1.5" in diameter and about 6-7" long.
I've never encounter this creature before. Hoping someone can shed some light. Scared the crap outta me when I initially saw it.

I looks like some kind of seaslug. Did you touch it?

Urichus caupo, or Fat Innkeeper Worm Only member of its phylum (Echiura). Also known as McGinnity's Penis, you can kinda see why: It's not usually that big, but when it gets disturbed or irritated, it swells up and squirts. And no, I couldn't make this stuff up, but I do remember some of my marine invertebrate zoology class. For some reason this one stuck...
