I just talked to the Staff Sargent in charge and she has been telling the troops were coming...

My idea that troops would be bringing their own gear is way off....   :smt012

These guys and gals are active duty,

being flown in for this week long mandatory " muster "

they'll be active duty fresh off the plane from hospitals overseas, and others from the 4 western states who are recovering at their homes, but again have to attend these events..

and this Lake Mindin is one of them...

so, what that means is, we need to bring all fishing gear...

I will be bringing close to 30 rods and bank fishing will be most of what we do here as we have a limited supply of kayaks and even more limited on guides...

I will be picking up a bunch of terminal tackle for bait fishing with worms for catfish etc..

but we will need to rig these up...

I'm figuring a sliding sinker set up...

that's all for now and last seconds arrivals on this one are welcome....

 Going to be busy....

Don, we all know that when you are "assisting" is usually when you get your ass handed to you in a bag!

Yup, I fully expect to be overwhelmed....

But these guys and gals are Kool customers and we'll make it work somehow...

Thanks Again for everyone who can help on such short notice....

Rob,  do you think it would be possible to bring your ez up?  if it's too much trouble don't worry about it, and you have seen the area and maybe have a idea if this would work for us or not...

it's going to heat up here in Sac over the next couple of days, with a slight cool down for Friday,  be nice to have some shade to work on the rods and stuff...

  Thanks Again

What a chance to give back. Unfortunately I'm busy. Would give anything to be there. The least I can do for a wonderful  cause is to loan my two kayaks for the the outing. If Thar's any body in my area which is Carmichael. Please call me any time, I would love to help.

Hey Don,
If you want his yaks there I can bring them with mine. I have  trailer now and can carry a total of 6. Let me know and I will pick them up Thurs. I'll be in that area anyway.

I will bring my 2 Tarpons and also my SIK, tarp, small BBQ, table, chairs, and whatever else I can think of. I just don't have a ton of fishing poles etc. I'll grab worms and anchovies too.

your doing so much already....

I would hate to put ya out...

I guess the other line of thinking is how many guides we can have on the water for safety reasons... let me think this out here...

we have me...

2 outbacks, 2 sports  20ish fishing poles...  terminal tackle, worms /anchovies ( have plenty of anchovies!!!

Frankfishing,  maybe 2 kayaks ( 1 extra )
Raydon  2 outbacks (1 extra )
Rob 2 kayaks ( 1 extra )
Bigfoot  kayak
Iroelikethat  Hobie

6 rental yaks at the lake

13 possible yaks for the Vets on the lake with a span of control of maybe 3 to 4 guides...

That's about as thin as I want to be...

plus need to be working the shoreline with bank fishing vets...

I think were good with what were bringing, unless some others are going to step up.

were spreading ourselves thin

I just got a update that we are looking at maybe a little over 30 Troops now...

That should be a bit more manageable.... and not everyone will want to fish, I imagine...

I'm bringing 19 rods... that is what we have left in the HOW rod cash...  guess we have lost a few...I know a couple have gone to Davy Jones with a few capsize events...

I've got terminal tackle,Hooks, swivels, beads and egg sinkers, 4 boxes of night crawlers (48), anchovies, could use maybe a little more in the sliding egg sinker area...

I expect to be there 0900ish,

Rob, I have briquettes... do we want to do a BQ for ourselves...?

If we do this, I can't imagine we wouldn't be passing out dogs to anyone that wanted one...

Chime in those that are coming and I'll pick up some dogs and stuff...

I have a case of water and a few gator aids from the last event and I'll fill a cooler with ice...

I was thinking of bags to give the troop to take their catch home... but I think they won't be going home and this might be just a catch and release, still we should bring some large ziplocks just incase any troops do want to bring something back to base.... guess I'll pick up a box of those too....

That's all for now and I can only hope my allergies are better by tomorrow or I'm in Big Trouble....  :sad4:
