maybe just go with the easier gig and try for trout at Del Valle, logistics are great there.  I feel the problem with San Pablo Reservoir would be good shore access to get Vets in and out of the water...  suggestions?
Theres a lunch area at San Pablo on the other side good picnic area as well try not to go on Main Rec it gets crazy, Launch area also has a protected are where Spotted Bass will start moving on Feb, also you mentioned Beryessa during late Feb Beryessa can be really productive during that time as smallmouth Spotted and Largemouth will start moving to shallow, either way wherever it is if works permit count me in, a lead time request for vacation is a must at my work.. date will be great...thanks

+1 for Berryessa.  It's free parking, nice boat ramp, rest room, no boat inspection, nice view, and I caught many Black Bass + 1 nice Kitty just last December.  You can also catch fish from the bank or boat ramp too.

So we thinking Capel cove, or over by the day use area?

I could also talk to Markely Cove and see if they could work with us....

I don't know how group friendly Markley is. I haven't been there for many years, but I remember that place as a steep canyon and not much beach/group area.

I'm available to help...and may have some 4H hamburgers to contribute, if Eric B doesn't have his new home BBQ by then.  :smt005

I would favor Quarry; for some reason, I always have a problem in getting to San Pablo.

Berryessa....  :smt012

I like the idea of the day use area, lots of parking, tables, (grills?), no fees, or is there?

I have never launched there before or fished out of that area, can anybody give me a breakdown of advantages/disadvantages as compared to Markely Cove?

I do believe I could get Markely cove to work with us on this event...  I like this area because of it's close proximity to great structure and protected cove, but it does not have a good area for setting up a lunch or cooking.

if we go small, this is not a issue, if we start getting around 20 or more participants, we will be heading down the path as to what we have done before...

what I plan on doing on this one is calling each wounded warrior and inviting them and not going come one come all with the VA...  I probably will open this up to the WTU ( Warrior Transition Unit...  ) If I don't get enough response from calling,  as they have been very good about telling me who/what is coming...

probably set a date this coming week, weekday preferable and will most likely be early February....

and I do think we should concentrate on simplifying the food thing...  Great Job again Jack!!!  really, but lets do something a little more cut and dry and simple...

and put the focus on catching some fishes....

  Thanks Again guys!!!!     :smt006

I am not a berryessa fan but I have had luck in the fall during the turnover and post spawn. Fishing has been slow there recently. East bay lakes have also been slow. The bottom line is that January and February kind of suck for fishing except for sturgeon and steelhead. I say we go to Doran and carpet bomb the area with pots and hoops.  :smt005

Right next to the beach.  If we do it on a weekday then we can have all the tables + BBQ pits for our group.
