Just a reminder, Im sure most people know this, but were gonna have a lot of yaks in the harbor.. Prolly best to paddle outside of the harbor and away from the entrance once your yak is in the water, they do not want us clogging up the harbor just floating around.. thanks!

-------------------------------

Kayaks, Rowing Shells, Rowboats, Dinghies and Outrigger Canoes

Due to the low freeboard / visibility of these vessels, they must stay to the farthest right and maintain a proper lookout:

--Surf breaking at the harbor entrance can impede ability and threaten the safety of staying to the right. If a boater in this class of craft chooses to cross over to the opposing side of the channel to exit or enter, they are advised to use extreme caution when crossing the channel and must yield to oncoming vessels.

--Either as an individual boater, or in a group, this class of craft must not congregate in the harbor entrance or other areas of the channel or fairways that might impede normal transiting vessel traffic.

--The Port District recommends that these low-profile vessels display an observation flag or other device to enhance visibility.

--Participants could jeopardize future group events by their continual and flagrant disregard of these policies and ordinances, and individuals may be cited.

The harbor maintains a small RV park for visitors. There are 12 non-hookup spaces and 6 temporary tent camping spaces. The non-hookup spaces are $14/night and the tent spaces are $10/night.

Please contact the harbor office to reserve your space. We can hold the space with a Visa or Mastercard number.

Hmmm. Called the office and they knew nothing about this.

Just a reminder, All directions, times and details are on page #1 of this thread

also, here is the paddle map again, if your dont know the area, just follow the pack..

The area near the kelp channel, you will see, its off the point, and there's a big huge clear cut in the kelp, decent fishing sometime and another great spot for a shot...

Pretty basic...

Hmmm ... I know for sure there are RV spots in the upper harbor.  Drive by them all the time.   There is even a "camp host" parked there.

Our house AC died this week. The replacement quotes are crazy. :smt011
The wife and I have to get out of the valley this weekend... heading for Santa Cruz!

I don't trust the hotel area we're staying at, so I'm not bringing a kayak.
We'll both be at the BBQ to buy raffle tickets and support Mooch.

See you there! :smt006

Are there going to be wives at the picnic/bbq area around 7am or earlier to hold/reserve an area for the group?  My wife is coming along but she is not paddling so she can assist with securing the area for us.

I'm sure this has already been brought up but we need people to bring as many folding tables as possible. Not only will we need them for food but for raffle items as well. I'm bringing a couple raffle items that will not mix well with sand.
