Looks sick buddy!

How many MPG do you get compared to your truck?

Did you get your yak rack squared away yet?

How many yaks can you carry?

Unfortunately right now they are pretty close. My truck has been sucking the gas as of late. I need to figure out why.
The kayak rack is 95% done. Just need one more tweak.
It was made to carry one kayak...intentionally!  :smt044

Dude me like what me see!
Since you can haul one yak now and the Bay Day is at an RV park you got no excuses for not driving up here for it  so I can drool on that "way too clean" engine bay.

Finally had a chance to try out the saddles with my AI hull. There's some truth to all of the reviews, the rear contact area is small enough to deform the hull, but only while the weight is on them, as soon as I unload they go away. Super easy to get the AI up and strapped down, and far more secure than my bed extender.

Also added some ski racks today to hold my rods and reels to keep them from banging around in the bed, and from tangling with each other. I love this because I can flip them upside down and not lose any kayak space up top when I want to carry more.

All in all I'm happy with it, certainly better than in the bed.

Okay that's good news.

An update:  I've spoken w/ sales reps & their answer to my complaint about the "Set" saddles collapse problem is that I have been strapping the saddled boat DOWN to the rack bar which definitely squashes the saddles flat. The right way to do it is to strap the boat to/around the saddles; after all, the saddles are bolted to the racks, so the saddles are secure for strapping. My mistake.

It can be done. 19 foot glass sea yak. Departed Sonoma county, arrived in Kenai AK. No problems. My son built the racks out of oak and used straps  thru the windows to secure. Windows rolled up and sealed fine.

2017 Subaru STI. Currently my only vehicle. Fun until it's time to go to Costco or kayak fishing. Doable but I miss my trucks.
