Hello everyone!  I would appreciate any insight on pedal kayaks for larger fishermen looking to fish halibut in the bay and maybe salmon in the ocean one day.  I am 6'3" about 265 and my brother is 6'5" about 295.  we currently fish out of a WS Ride 135 and 115x.  Love those kayaks but interested in try hands free. It can be hard to go just off of reviews, so I was hoping you guys could provide info based on your experiences.  Thanks in advance for any info you can provide!

I would recommend hobie PA 14.
Based on hobie kayak spec, Outback is ok with the overall weight but seat capacity would be very tight (275 LBS).

PA 14 is little bit slower than outback but would be fine in bay area and not far ocean.

PA14 if you have a kayak trailer or able to car top it.

PA is going to be really slow if you want to cover any distance.

You might consider a pre-2015 (pre vantage seat, that is) Outback, as the seat capacity would not be an issue.
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

I would say to give Headwaters Kayak in Lodi a call.  They carry multiple brands of pedal drive kayaks and will help you in your process.

I'm 6'2" and 250-260 (depending on the holiday) and I had no problem with the Hobie revo-13 except for room to store gear. Now I moved into a 2019 Outback. Much more comfortable and plenty of room for extra gear, limit of fish and even a lunch or snacks. Don't think you would have a problem with the outback and easier to handle than a PA.
Go to a reputable shop (after the S.I.P. order is lifted) and demo to see what works best for you. Or hook up with others and try before you buy .... only way to truly know what will work best for you.

Thank you for the info.  I will have to do some demo’s once the shelter in place is done.
