Here's another tent/trailer similar to the Sylvan Sport, only a little cheaper (5K versus 8K) and not quite as flashy.  There's a dealer in San Martin too if you want a first-hand look.

I saw them at Sportsman's Warehouse in Rocklin.

So far this has been a fun setup with some custom crossbars we built.

Welded some 1-1/2"x3/4" steel tube to some 3/4" angle and bolted this into the frame on the top, so far so good...

Cool thanks. I was thinking of using some black pipe with a couple of elbows and attaching them with flange to the roof. My pop-up ain't pretty on the outside. I may also look for some heavily used racks. I'm not sure I trust my welding skills.

thx again.

Ahhhh I was wondering if it was your tailer or Andy's. I am sure it will make your life waaaaay simpler having them loaded and ready to go

here's another option for car camping with the possibility of towing your kayaks with a trailer....

I have a truck camper with a palomino B-800 slide in popup camper.  Low wind resistance when driving, and a lot lower to put on boats on top.
First pic is one with the top down.  And driving a 100+ miles of really bad road in the rain.
