Davis Lake = big trout on top

Fished Davis Lake last Saturday and had the usual awesome time.  Sight fishing for rising big rising trout is awesome!!! Smallest was 18".

Damsel nymphs are the food of the day.  I plan to go back this weekend with my kayak to rack up some points.  Fishing is tough unless you know the lake and how to fish it.

Solid fishing Scott!  Davis is a trout-growing factory with all those insects.  What was the water temperature?

Water was in the lower 70's in the coves.  Spent my time out in the middle near weeds. Out there it got to 66. I'm headed back out in Sunday before it gets to hot.

That was funny running into you there.  When I got to my car I had a flat tire.  Luckily it went flat there where it was nice and cool, would have sucked to change that down in the 100+ heat.

Floating line fished over the weed beds.  Was basically casting to rising fish.  Blind cast every now and then, but waiting for risers.
