when I entered the inner sanctum, I saw that my mX was full of random gear and was starting to look more like a storage container than a boat. repulsed at myself, I decided to show the mini some love and contribute a little mini-X porn.

I use this boat for creeks and C1 trout hunting but it is also fun in small waves.
I kept it simple with only a few additions.

the scotty mount was added for the quick grip when I have allowed myself to drift into a situation and its time to get athletic 3 seconds ago. It also allows you to keep the bait in the water while you paddle thru it.

the drift anchor does a great job of keeping me out of the above situation.
the first evolution was "the guantlet". It had the advantage of lifting the anchor free from the water and allowing the boat to stay agile, but it was more difficult to pull up the line and at times would appear to put stress on the hull. I also wasnt a fan of its high profile.
the mendocrew turned me on to a better, more bombproof system and the gauntlet project got "reprioritized".
this current system doesnt stress the hull as much and it is much lower profile. (thanks mr white)
there is no need to open the third eye of the mini-x for what it is used for and I believe the only thing left to do is attach a vanity mount.
a great boat for certain water but definately not the tool for every job. :spiderman:

Sweet Ride partner !  My wife always reasures me that it's not how long it is, but what you can do with it that counts.  :smt002 (regarding me trading my Mini-X for a larger yak that is  :smt005).
