Title: Dropping crab pots in the channel/harbor entrance
Post by: SeaBassHWD on November 11, 2016, 08:52:23 AM
I know most of you are seasoned kayakers but there are a few that probably don't know any better. Last weekend during the dungeness crab opener at Pillar Point, there were several kayakers that dropped pots right at the jaws. If you're in any power boat and have to make quick maneuvers due to the big swell, dodging pots makes it all the more difficult. Please don't be "that guy" that makes it dangerous to boaters. People have lost their lives over this.

Same thing happens in Crescent City.  Guys will cut your buoys or steal your pots.  Don't be dumb.  Don't drop in the navigation channel.

Its been going on for years.  I've seen people on small inflatables fish in the middle of the entrance.  These people lack common sense.
