Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Opinions or other suggestions please
« on: May 31, 2022, 11:49:49 AM »
Pop’s (double amputee) got a Hobie, we rigged him for trolling. Is the places I have things tethered strong enough to hold, the batteries in the box are lithium ion so there not that heavy. I was told not to trust the little plastic Hobie seat clip so tethered to the carry handle. And H bar fir the light weight watersnake. Also is the motor deep enough? He has plenty of shaft to go deeper.

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / 19” Outback trolling motor options
« on: August 07, 2021, 02:15:45 PM »
The father in law picked up an Outback 19” model, he is a double amputee and ain’t interested in paddling or peddling. We’re looking at several options, one question i have … is a water snake at 24 lbs of thrust as good as a Minn Kota with 30 lbs of thrust? New to the electric motor gig so any advise or suggestions would be appreciated. Feel free to link what you got.

Got a post for what ya listening too, but figured we could start one for what ever your doing to pass the time.

I’ll start, been playing theHunter Call of the wild on the PS4 but last night was the best night. TLW sews and likes to read, I asked her if she wanted to shoot some animals on my game? She said no if I played I’d want to try the demolition derby game!
Me !?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Ok lady your up, loaded WreckFest and settled into the corner of the couch with her sitting in front of me so I can teach her the controls. After a while she wanted to try Crew 2. Yes! Loaded that one up for her sat next to her and she played it for a good 2 hours. The best part of watching her play was watching her turn her whole upper torso and twisting the controller in her hand trying to make the cars turn tighter. She had a beautiful smile going the whole time. That was the most fun I have had gaming in a very long time.

General Talk / SIP Junk Jig Challenge
« on: April 02, 2020, 10:50:35 AM »
Up here in Oregon Team C.O.D. (Crazy old dudes) and INSAYN fishing team (both just guys that fish together nothing professional) did a junk jig challenge. It was a blast I’ll drudge up the link on NWKA and post it up, in the meantime here’s my challenge.....,

Build a junk jig to fish once the SIP is lifted.

1. The only “real” Tackle that can be used is legal hooks, swivels, and fishing line.  (No actual lure making material allowed)
2 use what ever you have lying around in the kitchen drawer, shop drawer, or old car parts bin.
3 pictures of your parts before assembling
4 have fun

What do you win? Bragging right! Yup that’s all ya get, besides a big smile and maybe some good laughs. The fishing of the jigs is the best part.

Why Carry a Gun?

My old Grandpa said to me, 'Son, there comes a time in   every man's life when he stops bustin' knuckles and starts   bustin' caps and usually it's when he becomes too old to   take a whoopin'.'

I don't carry a gun to kill people; I carry a gun to keep   from being killed.

I don't carry a gun because I'm evil; I carry a gun because   I have lived long enough to see the evil in the World.

I don't carry a gun because I hate the government; I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.

I don't carry a gun because I'm angry; I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.

I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone; I   carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.

I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man; I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves   and the ones they love.

I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate; I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.

I don't carry a gun because I love it; I carry a gun because   I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.

Police protection is an oxymoron: Free citizens must   protect themselves because police do not protect you   from crime; they just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.

Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take a whoopin'!

 A LITTLE GUN HISTORY

PLEASE  DON'T  THINK  FOR  A  MOMENT,  THAT  THIS  COULDN'T HAPPEN  IN  OUR  COUNTRY  ALSO !!!!!!

In 1911, Turkey established gun control:

·             From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control:

·             From 1929 to 1953,  about 20 million dissidents,   unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------

In 1938 Germany established gun control:

.                From 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were   unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------

China established gun control in 1935:

.                   From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------

Cambodia established gun control in 1956:

.                  From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------

Guatemala established gun control in 1964:

·         From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend    themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------

Uganda  established gun control in 1970:

·             From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------

56 million defenseless people were rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control.
-----------------------

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

*Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect ONLY the law-abiding citizens.

With guns, we are 'citizens'; without them, we are 'subjects'.

During WW II, the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

Gun owners in the USA are the largest armed forces in   the World!
If you value your freedom, please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends.

The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense.

The sword is more important than the shield and skill is more important than either.

 ·          SWITZERLAND  ISSUES A GUN TO EVERY   HOUSEHOLD!  SWITZERLAND'S GOVERNMENT   ISSUES AND TRAINS EVERY ADULT IN THE USE OF A RIFLE.

 ·             SWITZERLAND HAS THE LOWEST GUN RELATED CRIME RATE OF ANY CIVILIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!!

·             IT'S A NO BRAINER! DON'T LET OUR GOVERNMENT      WASTE MILLIONS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS IN AN     EFFORT TO MAKE ALL LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS     AN EASY TARGET.

·          I'm a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment! If you are too, please forward this. If you're not a believer, please reconsider the true facts. This is history; and if we do not want history to repeat itself, we must wake up.

General Talk / Custom trailer progress
« on: July 05, 2019, 08:32:54 PM »
Figured I’d give y’all the progress report on the custom trailer I was building when I got “crashed on”.
Another day or so of welding and grind off the sharp edges and hopefully I’ll be painting it Sunday. Got the spare tucked today, and welded on the wire “armor”. Still need to make load assist bars but there super easy.

General Talk / Harbor Freight trailer crash emergency!
« on: June 28, 2019, 06:29:53 PM »
Crash is up from California for his daughter’s band camp. He asked me this morning if he could come by the shop to maybe borrow some tools or get my opinion on a little issue he’s having with his harbor freight trailer. I said sure since I was just cutting metal today. OHH BOY WAS HE WRONG! far from little and slightly more then an issue!! His tongue was bending to the point it was going to have a critical failure. He heads back to Cali tomorrow so I spent the day picking up a few sticks of steel and started in on it. Update tomorrow after it’s done. But here’s the issue photo.
