It's the real Shelter Cove (a town), and, yes, it's way way up here.   :smt006

Deadline will be around tax day - it's TBA for now.  Entry fee will likely be $25 like last year, but that's TBA at this point too.

Shirts and other gear will be all pre-order this year.  (relieved smiley)

Please add Yakhopper and family to the list
Just booked a room at the tides and the wife sounds excited.

I'll work more on the general info and post it later this evening.  You can gather much info by reviewing the threads for GS3 and GS4, but leave yourself plenty of time!   :smt005

Order the hookups threads by pressing "views" twice - because first it shows least views...  This will get you to the GS3 thread.

Order the Fishing Events, Tournaments, and Road Trips threads the same way to find the GS4 thread.

thx,

Eric

I just spoke to Julie at The Tides Inn - we've got half the place booked up already!  4 smaller rooms left on the ground floor - get one while you can.  They're generously offering the 3 nights for the price of 2 deal again.

I also spoke to Jack, the owner of the campground.  He was very unhappy after last year.  There was an incident in the bathroom that does not need to be described beyond "disgusting and inappropriate".  What really got him though was that quite a few people floated in "under the radar" and didn't pay to stay.  I'm basically in negotiations with Jack where I'm commiting to helping him any way I can, and most of how I can do that is right here.

THE LAW FOR THE CAMPGROUND:

- pay what you owe;
- don't abuse facilities;
- don't broker deals to add people to your camp unless it's within the rules.

At this point I'm not sure we'll be welcome at the campground.  I am confident that I can rectify that well before the tournament, but I need commitment from all participants that no one will avoid paying their way or even try to nickle and dime.  Jack and other business people in Shelter Cove are seeing hard times due to cuts in seasons...etc. - it's very inappropriate for anyone to come in and try to avoid being responsible for paying the basics.  If you want cheap then be sure to stay up at the forest service campgrounds 15 minutes up the hill.

I'll revisit this topic.

Is there a way for there to be a "set" price per night for each spot? That way one person per spot can pay Jack and then they ppl sharing can sort out the payments. Having 100 ppl looking to find and pay Jack may add to his stress level vs. the 30 or so 'primary' campers. And are we sure it was an NCKA'er that abused the bathrooms? Just doesn't seem like an NCKA kinda thing to do...just saying, lots of ppl were there last year.

Or maybe we just pay him a flat fee....like $5K (or whatever the right amount is) and we split the cost per night per person.

So excited for this one!  Looking forward to being able to meet everyone.  Thats a bummer about the campground guy being pissed.  Hopefully you can work a miracle!  I think a flat fee is a good idea.  I gotta admit, "disgusting and inappropriate" has me curious...What the hell happened in there?!  Anyhow, Thanks Eric and everyone else for doing all the work to get this going.  I cant freakin wait!
