Up and down the coast - Tomales, Humboldt Bay, the Cove...  The halibut bite for shakers, 22 to 24 inchers, and it seems quite a few just over 30" is really good.  I'm picturing a lot of bait available to the 'buts because the salmon aren't there...  who knows?  It's also possibly a cyclical thing and/or a warmer water thing.  Whatever it is, it's fun, and now it's only a few weeks until salmon's open on it too.
