Today I fished with Matt and Rob. Rob caught a 23” horse mackerel.

Those horse macks kick ass. Great smoked and raw and grilled.
However, I'm still unclear on what they are exactly. Are they actually in the mackerel/tuna family? They don't quite look like it.
Anyway, looks fun.

They're in the jack family (Carangidae).

I agree. I give full credit to Eric, Matt, and Rob. My Lowrance fish finder would not
work it just up and died on me and this is the third time and the third new one in two years.
I’m giving up on Lowrance. So l was totally depended on the others and I’m sure I nagged
The crap out of them constantly asking them about depths. Poor Matt this is the second
year in a row that my fishfinder died when I was fishing with him.
