However, I've found my big net to be more effective than a gaff.  Once a fish is in that baby, it's mine.

I also like to sever the spine with my knife rather than beat the fish with a club, while still wrapped in the net, that method is foolproof.

Just cut the gills.  I been out on the long range boats and it takes hours of the sharks to find us.  The decks all bloody and we are having a ball.

I would get in in my net and cut the gills in the net.  Game Over.
