Hey all!.. I met one of your members in his shop in windsor and somehow the topic turned to fishing.. imagine that.. and yakking.. so he gave me the addy of this place and Ive been lurking it for a month or two. Been kayaking for years and fishing the north coast for many years but never really put the two together. I finally picked up a SOT to start with and am working on rigging it up and getting out there!

rofl! howd ya think she let me get the yak? .. jk.. actually my daughter put on some kind of mood ring and it got stuck... So we went to his shop and he cut it off. (the ring.. not the finger :smt003) was very cool!

Welcome aboard Bill. Hope to see you OTW soon.

I spent the day at lake sonoma trying the manta ray out.. the boat performed even better than I had hoped! I was amazed at how well it turns, backs, and maneuvers around obstacles. (lots of obstacles in the yorty creek area of the lake atm) I spent quite a bit of time getting on and off the boat in deep water, much easier than I thought it might be. Next step is getting some rod holders installed. :smt003
heres a pic of the naked yak

Cool! My schedule is also flexible most of the time as well. I'm not sure when I will be able to hit the salt as I still need a few things for that..wetsuit, dry top, vhf and prob a fish finder, etc.. till then I'm def up for at least some freshwater fishing.

Welcome to the madness, Bill.
I have a manta ray 14 also, same color, even. It's been a good boat, although it's not the fastest boat on the water.
See you otw! I need to get up to lk Sonoma.
