Went out with Jr. for a brief evening session. Breezy and chilly.  Light ripple, but no waves.  Jr. made the call and we fished the bouy line.  We trolled a few minutes and had the bait light up but no strikes.  We worked the area for another 20 minutes and I finally got bit after a prolomged bait chase.  Set the hook and yanked it out of its mouth...DOH. :smt010

Pinned on another bait and turned around.  A few minutes later and the bait is running.  The hit was slow and tedious, but he eventually ate it.  Fish was not particularly big but it was a gamey one and I was off on a ride.  He towed me right through Jr.s line, but we were only tangled for a second.  After a nice long fight, I lipped him on board.  27.5 inches and about 8 pounds.

A few minutes later Jr. got a weird bite but missed the fish due to my now thoroughly wasted Abu's.  Ran out of light in the next 15 minutes.

Overall the water clarity isn't what it was last week but fine for trolling, but I don't expect any topwater this weekend.

Nice!! I almost called you today to see if you might be up to a little Mendo. I was really in the mood to get my fly rod out for some stripers
Where did you get the nice sticker ruler that is on your yak? I have been looking for one like that for a while. I couldn't go crabbing because of the wind today. Let's try to get it planned again.

When the Lord takes your sins, you never see them again. He casts them into the depths of the sea, forgiven and forgotten. I even believe that He places a sign over them that reads no fishing allowed.

Brent:  Definitely not fly rod time until the lake gets back into shape.  Your more than welcome to come up anytime.  Imagine a guy in your line of work is pretty busy on this weekend.  I may go late tomorrow morning, say 10ish?

I am testing the ruler as an item we may carry, just want to make sure they last before I sell them.  So far it has been impressively sticky!  I'll let you know when we get them in.

How has the crabbing been?  Halibut?
