What is this Flexpod thing it mentions?

That is the electronics pod like on all the other new Wildy's. Also this is where the motor or pedal drive can go.

Wow that is a upgrade from previous model.  Seems all the kayaks are jumping on the lawn chair bandwagon. However the new seat looks like a downgrade from the previous seat.

This seat is designed to be a fixed position. On a narrower boat like the Tarpon the high position will not be as stable on this kayak. That is the reason for the fixed position and this particular seat.

Like a cross btwn the Ride and Tarpon.
The one thing I really like is Feature E!!! Because it addresses one of the potential drawbacks of the flexpod system...if you plug in pedals/motor, then where does your FF/transducer go? Sounds like they've taken a lot into consideration when designing this yak.

Ooohh..  Feature 'E' sounds good!  Waiting for all this in one of their UL Series yaks'

Any new info on this model? Anyone own one? I'm wondering if it has proved to be a good design. What's the status on a pedal drive? Anyone know where to demo it?

I have it and I like it. As fast as a Tarpon 120 but more stable and more comfy. It handled class 2 rapids on the AR with no problem.  Adventure Sports has a couple in stock if you want to see it. As far as testing, ask Adventure or meet me somewhere.

The pedal drive does NOT work in this kayak. The pedal drive was designed around a completely different kayak. 2 models for it.  I can release all the info on Wednesday this week at 9am once Icast starts.

I look forward to more info. I don't know that I'll ever afford a $2000 kayak motor, but I like some of the features the 130X has.

I have no desire to own the motor. This kayak paddles as well as any of the Tarpon series does. It is truly a Tarpon.

When it is a few mile paddle to the fishng area I could enjoy using a motor to get there and back. Maybe when I hit the lotto.  :smt007

Did they make them interchangeable? I read the 130X had a different fit than the rest.

1 motor for all the kayaks. 130 has the same plug in, plus another spot for your fish  finder if you are using the motor.  When all else fails, or you have a question, look at the website.

I read in several places that it had a unique setup. Maybe it was from before it was finalized.

Maybe I'm mixing this up. A quick review found this.

The Flex Pod opening on the 2016 models is a slightly different size than previous years so the Helix Motor Drive unit will not interchange between model years.

Only the first few months of production. It is easy to tell which is which. The one that fits the motor, the opening is front to back of the pod well. The one that does not, the pod well has a 1/2' step front and rear. Only on the Threshers. The 130x has no issues at all. nor does the ATAK.
