Ocean Kayak: Have a question you'd like to ask one of our Pro-Staffers?
Chet: When will you introduce a new Trident 15 to the market ?
Ocean Kayak: Stay tuned! We will have your answer ready next week!

I am hoping to see if it weight less than 70lb, width 28"-29". Then I will grab one.
If anyone know anything about this kayak, post it here or pm me.

The Trident 15 will never weigh 70 or less. It will more than likely stay at the same width of 29 inches as the hull wont be changed. Its perfect just like it is. The hull design will stay the same with a possible transducer scupper up grade. The top deck will be re-designed. Maybe in 2016 we will have the new Trident15. I have been in contact with David Hadden on ideas for the new Trident. So far that I am aware of its all in the talk and suggestion phase now. You are seeing that class of SOT fishing kayaks come in at high 80's to over 100 lbs. fully rigged. The current Trident 15 comes in around 72 -75 lbs. The 13 weighs 62 lbs. Bare. Im excited about the upgrades that will for sure have different foot rests. A new seating system. A possible reconfigured rod pod and rear well.   Plus a rail system was talked about.

Their website says 60lbs? Why is it off so much?

They need to get rid of the molded foot wells, and expand the tank well like a Tarpon.  Other than that, no complaints.

That's funny. I love the moulded footwells. I can change the position of my feet without moving anything. What don't you like about them? Its probably weighed without hatches, seat and rigging. Ill weigh mine right now. Right back.

No seat. Which for a kayak of this variety and length is pretty fucking awesome. We fished in 15 knots gusts last Sunday that developed into 3ft chop and paddling back home against the wind the Trident hull shines. Really shines.

I'm particularly tall, and the footwells are useless for me, my ankles and Achilles' tendon knock on them when my legs are outstretched.

Does anybody know if the new Humminbird Helix series fishfinders fit in the current Sonar Shield?! Because the Helix head unit is a different shape/size, compared to the old traditional Humminbird units.

The Helix series wont fit Pat. Too wide. That s a needed upgrade we talked about.

It did in fact go back into production. This is the same Trident 15 as before with two upgrades. A new front hatch similar to the ultras and the predator. The other is fixed moulded handles in the center of the kayak.

They also have put the prowler 13 back into production. I'll have pictures of both kayaks and more  later.

Chet this is not the new Trident 15 I assumed you were talking about. That is still on the drawing board. I'm bringing the upgraded 15 home today.
