Jan. 1 is my first day of retirement.  I plan to fish often. I really like to troll for trout and I am interested in the meeting up with other trolling enthusiasts.  I am new to posting so I hope to meet the 10 post limit soon so I can view what other Kayak anglers are doing

What's up, Nick?

My advice is to make a new post.  Look for the "new topic" button - mine is in the upper right, just above the reports.  Make a title like "Looking for info on north bay halibut spots", and then elaborate in the body of your post.

Good luck.  :smt001

Also in that post clarify which bay. You are in Arcata so you likely mean Humboldt Bay. If you leave that part out you will get a metric ton of great advice for the San Francisco Bay.

My buddy and I will be launching off cowells / main beach tomorrow around sunrise and giving it a go for a few hours in the area out in front of the wharf looking for halibut or whatever wants to eat a swimbait  :smt002  I'll have my VHF monitoring channel 69 if anyone else is paddling out in the area

tight lines!

Caught 1 keeper Hali on 5/11 @ Alameda Rockwell. Gonna try to hit it again Sunday 5/19. After the weather blows out. Fingers crossed!

@Christianbrat: Wind is generally out of the west. Blows in pretty much straight thru the gate. It can get turned around depending on prevailing weather patterns.

I use weather.gov and drop a pin on the water outside of Encinal Boat Launch.
