Ok after my somewhat mixed up pro Right side post, I still think right is more comfortable for my hands and fingers, BUT the left placement is so much better looking and intuitive that I changed my vote to LEFT.

I am another VOTE for LEFT !   Like reading a book now, left to right. Right side of brain stays focused on the boards better and mumbo jumbo is better on the left IMHO.

After seeing both.  I like the Left.

I am getting dizzy looking for the stuff...hahaha. Either is fine. Can you ad back the "back to the top" button at the bottom? Or even better a "Show Unread" botton. That way when I finish reading the thread I can just go back to the unread list....I can get my fix with a few less clicks?

I just have a link to the unread posts as a favorite on my browser tool bar.  If I get bored, one click and I get to see all the new stuff.   The only page I ever navigate to is the unread posts

I like the right way better (pun intended) for exactly the reason you did it to begin with. It allows me to collapse the window to save space on my screen. And I'm still able to follow a thread but can also get other things done simultaneously. WAY more efficient use of space. Clearly the way of the future. Let the Luddites languish in the past. Move forward, right is right!
