Happy Easter Everyone!

My buddy was having a pretty good day -- at first light a Wahoo, then a nice King Mackerel.

But then around 10 am off Boca Raton, Florida in 200ft of water while he was putting out a live bait to troll, his kayak got nudged. He didn't see what nudged him, but in the next instance, his kayak was hit so hard, that it flipped. He did not get a good look at it, but it was a greyish shark.

The next few minutes in the water expecting the shark to return were some of the scariest of his life!

The shark did not return. His closeby buddy allowed him to climb on the back of his kayak until they were able to flip his kayak upright.

The day went from good to horrible as my buddy lost 5 fishing outfits and a GoPro camera that was on, and might have otherwise had some viral video of the shark hit.

His outback Kayak had some teeth marks, one of which punctured all the way through and slowly leaked water as he headed back to the beach.

Having been attacked 4 times on the kayak by Hammerheads, this shark did not stay on the surface like Hammerheads normally do. The other most aggressive shark in this area is a Bull Shark, but bulls are brown in color.

This attack is very similar to those of California by the Great White Sharks.
But a group of us have been fishing this area for many years, and have never seen a Great White.

Then one buddy did a check on the Shark Tracker App, and Guess what!

It looks like the 12ft 4" 1200lb male Great White Shark named IRONBOUND happened to be off Boca Raton today.

I think I am going to load that app on my phone for future reference.
