I don't think I see fishing gear.  Looks like a diver...

Yeah, I'm kinda thinking the same thing.

A diver would have had SOMETHING clipped to the kayak, and it looks pretty bare.  Paddles are usually clipped to the kayak, kelp clip, flags, extra gear, etc.  I don't see anything, which hopefully means that it got loose at the campground or somewhere upriver.

I met a scuba diver at Fort Ross a few weeks ago. That looks like his kayak. Do not know his name, or where he was from. Not too many OK in that color running around. Hope this has a happy ending.

It looks like a shorter model. The one the guy I met was using was shorter than the P13 Cody was paddling. NOt sure of the model, fish/dive, scupper pro, etc. Keep posting updates when they are avail please  :smt006

Looks like the yak is full of water

If so it would be tough paddling and keeping it upright especially if conditions were wrong, yak would tend to sway and go over

I did the stretch from Stinson to Muir w a lot of water in the Tarpon, very steep swell. Was exhausting and would have probably abandoned ship and swam but I had pb Hog Heaven shadow me all the way down to Muir

Hope this doesn't turn out to be the case

That is an oldschool Scrambler, before the XT model. I owned 2 of those in the exact same color.
I bet it floated down the river.
OR the owner was simply diving and the kayak got loose. Now he's swimming around looking for his yak.

But the 2nd pic is confusing because the guy appears to be drilling holes in the kayak?

I was wondering that myself. I guess it was too heavy to carry and they didn't realize there is a drain plug? Would kinda suck to get your kayak back only to find a big ol hole in the rear from a drill. Lets just hope that's the worst of it.

that kayak must have flipped over or had a leak in it though to get that much water in it.  scramblers don't have enough hatches to leak.  that scrambler doesn't look like it has hatches at all.

the straps on front and in back seem to be tank straps - they might need to be looking for a scuba guy.

Any local reports of missing persons?

Sort of...

...What are the odds this has been drifting around for over a week without being noticed....?
