Has anyone stayed at SCSB?  I got some reservations for this august, but never been there before.  Want to make sure my family has a good weekend.  Will this be a pretty good trip?  Of course, we'll be yakfishing, etc.

If you're planning to kayak fish a lot, I'd recommend going a little farther up the coast either to Fort Ross State Park or Stillwater Cove County Park or even Salt Point State Park.  All of these have kayak accessible coves for safe launch and landing and great fishing and ab diving.

If I'm not mistaken, Sonoma Coast State Beach is the one in Bodega Bay along the South side of Salmon Creek Beach.  You'll either have to go to one of the above locations for safe kayak launching or to Bodega Bay (Doran Park).    I really like Stillwater Cove County Park as a family friendly place to camp.   Nice little redwood grove there for short hikes as well.
