Anyone has a rockfish length and weight chart for the common species? The lingcod size chart is pretty helpful, just wondering if anyone has something similar for rockfish.

Who actually weighs rockfish?    :smt005

Unless its a monster black or verm, probably not necessary for a weight since the typical catch are pretty much 1-2lbs.

Hey James. I have a species chart for RF. Thats pretty much all you need. As for limits and size chart (like minimum ling length) that can change from season to season. Being able to ID RF species is whats important. From there you can determine whether you can keep it or not.
Take a look at what I got the next time I see you and if its what you're looking for then you can make a color copy and laminate.

I think James may have been just looking for a size/weight reference chart to estimate how big the fish are.

LOL - That is exactly what I have thought up to now. I started a fishing log at the beginning of the season tracking all my fishing trips with various parameters. Since the count is 50 now, I am expanding it. Just want to ask the group first so I don't have to reinvent the wheel. I'm sure someone someday will benefit from it. Or, it could just be something to keep me busy when I am off the water.

Thanks Jeff, I'm looking for a data set of length and weight. Just the geek side of me.

Ask a DFW fish counter. They would probably know. God knows they have enough data points.
